Set Apart to Thrash

A couple of weeks ago I came across this gem in D&C 35:13....

Wherefore, I call upon the weak things of the world, those who are unlearned and despised,
to thrash the nations by the power of my spirit.

I couldn't help but wonder why missionaries are memorizing the sickle
verses, when there are these motivating thrashing ones

Well I am now a missionary. As Kate would say this now qualifies me to be among the favorite children. Kate prepared me a lot for this day. Reminding me that if mom cried they are only tears of PURE JOY.

Aaron looks so happy knowing that I will be gone for the next 18 months. He is going with my parents to drop me off at the MTC because he has some important plans afterwards that he has been planning for the last couple of weeks.

This is poe. I couldn't think of anything too clever for my blog name so I named it "missing poe",  when I am in Idaho I don't really get homesick but I do start to miss poe. My mom calls this my poesickness. Poe told me that she was really excited to see how much my face would change on my mission as I "grew up", I don't think she realizes that she will be changing a lot more than I will.
Wow, I just realized that I am in all of these pictures. Hmmm....self-centered? Well I guess I'll just have to work on developing some more Christ-like qualities for the next 18 months.

One of my hesitation to starting this blog was keeping it up, blog people seem to get burdened by being consistent. I also imagine there is pressure to write something interesting which can be difficult because most blogs are just about peoples life's. People's lives generally don't get too interesting.  I lucked out because after this first initial post my sister Kate is taking over. Kate is part of a small percentage of the population that is interesting and funny 100% of the time. So I get to do what most bloggers can't, start the blog and then basically abandon it. It will likely get better too.  So, farewell, I am leaving. Not really leaving actually just moving to another place in Provo.........
